Raya had been bothered by a rather eerie feeling all evening. Mucky green syuff hung from the half dead trees, there were swampy places everywhere and it reaked. Not to mention the large bugs, *very* large bugs. Raya had doused herself in pennyroyal, and so far it had done its job with keeping the insects away. Which of course was good. In the dark she could see lights all around her, of course most were just mushrooms glowing a luminessent blue. That made her confused, everytime she thought she had finally wondered back somewhere safe and populated with beings, it turned out to be a mushroom. all the other lights were either bugs or more bugs. Maybe she could at least find something eddible, the sound of her stomach grumbling must echo here. It might attract something hungrey, or maybe someone who would help her find her way! She spun around in another circle. She saw a soft light and walked in that direction, and at that moment the hair on the back of her neck stood up. She nervously glanced behind her, sweeping her cloak back to clutch her dagger hilt. Either her imagination was playing tricks on her, or there was something following her. She took a deep breath in and continued walking, now with her dagger drawn. If only there was somebody to tell a story to, that would make her ease up. Yes a story! So she began telling herself a story as she walked, still being haunted by the eerie feeling of being watched.

EeriRo in a half running jog down the dark and eerie path with her bag over her head as to stay out of her way and not hit her in her sides lookes here and there fo signs of people or life * besids the bugs* and in thinking that jumped over a large one just in time before runing into it. "Run, jump, repeat" thinking this as she jumped over another bug, *man I need to find some place to rest and soon my legs are getting tired* Her ears pricked a bit as she heard some kind of noise on down the path, "people or just more bugs", she thought. As she moved on down the trail she could make out words and a shap moving in the mist. "Yea!!" she yelled, as she speed up, smileing "people at last! and hopefully a place to rest. In thinking this she went into a full run the catch up with them.

At this point she *knew* she was being follow, it was hard not to hear the clumbsy choas behind. She swiftly found a place to blend in and waited with her dagger slightly gleaming with lamp light. Lamp light?! Raya suddenly realized that she must be close to something now. She quickly sprang up and ran full spead toward the light. What luck! Who would have thought among all this horrid swamp lands one would find an entire fotress, inside there was probably food! Foooood..... She hastily knocked on the gate. A small window opened and out poped a pale wrinkled face. "Who goes there?" "Raya Roksana, a simple traveler seeking shelter please allow me to enter!" She blurted out in one breath as the thing running behind her closed in. The gate opened and she litterally sprang through slaming the door behind her with a thud. Her heart was racing a mile a minute as she slipped onto the dirt path. That the heavens she was safe! The gate keeper looked at her curiously, "looks like you've seen a ghost. Funny, these woods seem to do that to people," he smiled at her, who smiled back with a nod and walked down the path to find a tavern.

Rokuro chewed his bread contentedly. This place had delicious food... "How's the food, dear?" said the owner's wife. She was an older woman, plump and pleasant. He looked up from him plate and swallowed what was in his mouth. "Um, delicious..." he said softly. "Awfully quiet one, you are!" she said with a hearty laugh. "Why not sit near someone else?" "Well, I-" "Nonsense, there's no reason! I'll see if me daughter might keep ye company!" "Uh, ma'am, that's not-" "Oh Leyna! Leyna! Come here a minute, girl!" she called out. Rokuro could hear the owner asking what the yelling was about, to which his wife said, "Oh nothing, my dear, there's just a nice young man I think she should meet. He seems lonesome." Rokuro's face reddened. Damn his good hearing... Maybe he should just slip across the room and blend into the loud crowd... But how could he ever get a room now? Well, maybe if- His thoughts were cut off by the sound of feet down stairs. Maybe he could just be disagreeable so she would leave. "Hello there," came the sweet sound of a voice, snapping Rokuro out of his thoughts. "Uhh... Hi..." Oh hell. He was going to be nice, he just knew it. "I'm Leyna. And you are?" Rokuro hesitated. The girl had taken a seat acros from him at his small table. She was young, maybe a year or two younger than himself, and very good looking. Her raven hair cascaded lightly down her shoulders, framing her slender face. She had gray-blue eyes, and a warm smile on her red lips. Rokuro was somewhat surprised. She was beautiful...

OoC: Um... I was gonna enter later, but now that I see we've reached some goings-on in the tavern then I'll just jump in now. Honestly, I have no idea where this thread is headed, but hey, activity is activity.
BiC:
Cosmos blended in perfectly with the shadows in the corner of the room. Being a walking shoadow himself had quite an advantage, this place's active little crowd barely seemed to notice him. Good. That's what he wanted. He had come to this place to escape the chaos that constantly followed him, and at this point he had quickly rounded a corner and lost it. Though, he didn't know why he came here to avoid his bad luck, when he had a silent cathedral to sit at anytime he wanted. Maybe, he began to think, he was beginning to appreciate company a little more, even if no-one was talking to him. Even with all these thoughts, he still kept his ears alert and his eyes open, and one certain sight and sound caught his full attention. At first he thought that obnoxious owner's wife was at it again, remembering his little encounter with her. He knew she was only trying to be nice, he didn't try to frighten her off with the red glow in his eyes... Apparenlty it didn't affect her much, as she was up to her nosiness once again. As soon as he caught sight of that man, heard that voice... It couldn't be, could it? Dear God why me, why here, why now? He put his head down on the table in slight despair. Every time that man showed up, trouble followed. He knew Rokuro probably thought the same thing about the werevamp, but as long as he kept a low profile in his shadowy corner that every place happened to have, hopefully nothing too bad would arise. Cosmos hated to dig into the man's buisness, but he couldn't help but watch. He heard every word thanks to lycathropic hearing, and he couldn't believe it. A girl? Not possible! At first he was jealous, nobody ever showed that kind of interest in him... Instantly he roughly shook off the thought, throwing his long black hair all around his head in order to toss all of those thoughts through his ears and onto the floor. He was going soft, and that would not be tolerated. As he watched the two mingle with lack of anything else to do, he leaned an elbow on the table and his chin in his palm. This would be amusing.

Raya stumbled through the door of the noisy tavern leaving a trail of mud across the floor as she dragged herself to a table. Her dark hair bounced slightly as plopped herself down. She swept off her cloak gracefully and hung it over the back of her chair. Her mandolin case and pack fell with a thud beside her seat and she reached to her back and found the pocket that held her coins ripped open, she had no money left. Once again that rotten luck came to bite at her. With a sudden grin she grabbed a bowl from her pack as she twirled her penny whistle in her other hand. Maybe she could make a little bit of money, her talent hardly failed. She sat on her table and placed the bowl at her side as she began to play a lively jig of sorts. A few people paused to glance, prehaps they'd give her a bit of change? She continued to play hopefully, tapping her foot to the beat (which caused the ikkle jingly bells on her socks to jingle slightly, which was a nice effect. ) She shut her eyes and hoped that she would begin hearing little clanks of coins being tossed into her bowl... come on.... come on.......

OOC: Yknow, i meant to make that post longer... Wonder what happened. Oh well, it was nothing interesting... The dear god, why me thing had me laughing pretty hard, there. Anyway.
BIC: Great. There was no chance he would even get out a full sentence talking to this girl. For one, she was a person. For another point, she was a beautiful girl. He didn't speak to ANYONE very well, nevermind- "I'm... Rokuro... Rokuro Nanashi..." "So what brings you this old place, Rokuro Nanashi?" "Uhh, I'm just sort of... Passing through. Maybe staying here tonight..." "Don't talk much, do you? You seem kind of shy. That's adorable." She grinned, he assumed to get a reaction from him. His face reddened very slightly and his eyes went downcast. "That bracer you have on... That stone is beautiful. Where did you get that?" "It was... given to me by-" he was cut off as his eyes went wide. How did it take him so long to notice? There was a familiar presence in here. He searched the room, and when he found no one, he started to worry a bit. Before he sensed the slight aura of amusement from across the room. It wasn't possible! "Is there something wrong?" He looked back at Leyna. She had a sort of surprise mixed with worry on her face. He paid little mind to the bard that had entered and started playing, his mind was elsewhere... "No, I'm sorry..." Cosmos was in here somewhere, and he was having much too much fun watching him "talk" to Leyna. "Why don't we listen to the bard, she's pretty good," Leyna said, turning in her seat. Rokuro looked as well. The owner had walked over to her. "You know, if you like we could give you a small stage on one side of the room. I could pay you, you know. It would keep my patrons happy!" he said to her softly. I want to pay attention, he thought, but I should find Cosmos, too... Well... he can wait a little bit I suppose.

Raya ended her song short as her face grew bright. She turned with the widest, friendliest grin a person could ever see as she practically shouted with glee, "Yes Sir, thank you sir, don't need much for pay just lotsa food sir!" She shook hands with the man very vigourously before hoping down and bowing. (Jingle jingle go the bells! ) "Well, you just wait here a moment I'll have that stage ready for you in a moment lass!" He chuckled and walked off, leaving Raya with a smile on her face. She looked about curiously seeing a young man and woman sitting together. What a cute couple, she smiled and continued looking about. She caught a glance of a shady man in the corner, to her he stuck out like a sore thumb. While most of the people had been listening to her he had sat there as if he were alone and could hear nothing at all. She caught herself staring and glanced away quickly. The owner had returned, and smiled at her fondly, "There's a stool for you ta sit on now." Raya grinned, thanked the man and walked up on stage taking her mandolin case with her. She began to play a quiet tune on her mandolin, her eye still wondering upon that stranger in the corner every now and then.

As she ran closer to the sound it ran too! "Not fair!!" she thought, but at that point she saw the glitter of lamp light, Town!! that word ran through her mind at top speed, and at that she slamed to a halt in the middle of the road, droping her bag in the middle of the road as she did so. Thinking " Town mean people and that always dosen't mean good", her fingers figited a bit and then moved to her head and to her horns. Her eyes lit up " I got it!" she said, she dove into her bag and pulled out a hat and cramed it over her head, "There all good" giving a thumbs up to herself. Then she walked over to a part on the gate that was in shadows and scaled up it with no problem, and in reaching the top jumped neatly to the ground and walked into the town in way of the shadowns. *sniff sniff* "FOOD!!" she thought, and with that slipped closer to the tavern, and with out a noise sliped in. She felt her ears prick back as she slipped in "noisey, and crouded" she thought, but just then someone bummed her hat right off!! "OH NO!" she thought cluching the top of her head to hide her horns, and she looked at her hat rolled into a dark corner and under a table, and with out even thinking who was even at that table dove for it.

He noticed the bard glance at Leyna and him and grin. Hm. As she started to play, Leyna looked back at him for a minute, kind of surprising him. "Uhh, yes? Do you need something?" "No, it's nothing." And she turned back. What a strange girl... Or maybe she was a completely normal girl. He wouldn't really know, now would he? As the young girl stepped up onto the small platform and began playn, Rokuro noticed she seemed distracted. She kept looking away for a moment, then back. He couldn't really tell where she was looking... There. A table in the far corner. He couldn't see the occupant, but he coud tell who it was. No wonder he hadn't been able to see Cosmos, he was shrouding himself in shadow. Damned vampire half. Something moved under Cos's table. What was that? Well, it was probably nothing. He decided to ignore the werevamp for now. There was good music to listen to now, and it kept taking his attention. Aside, of course, from a pretty girl sitting near him, but he thought it might be best to try and keep his mind from. When he left this place it would be the last he saw of her anyway.

Raya stopped herself from looking at the man, but his presence made her nervous. She smiled at the people kindly listening, she gently nudged the bowl by her feet hoping for a coin or two. She heard a few clinks as she ended her song. She played a few little notes on her mandolin before picking up a quick tune to one of her favorite songs. It was easy to sing along to and the speed picked up as it went along adding more and more to each verse. "Oh, oh, the rattlin' bog, the bog down in the valley o' Oh, oh, the rattlin' bog, the bog down in the valley o'. and in that bog there was a tree, a rare tree and a rattlin' tree. And the tree in the bog, and the bog down in the valley o!" It continued to the last verse where most people were out of breath she took a deep inhale and sang hysterically fast... "and the flea on the feather, the feather on the bird, bird on the egg, egg in the nest, nest on the twig, twig on the branch, branch on the limb, limb on the tree, tree in the bog, and the bog down in the valley oooooo..." at that she collapsed over backward laughing merily along with most of the people watching. Raya gasped for air as she picked herself up and sat back down. "I hope you enjoyed that one," She smiled kindly at the amused people, as she heard many more clinks in the bowl.

Rokuro grinned at the song, and the performer. He reached into a pocket and pulled out a pair of gold coins. Leyna looked over at him, her smile fading into confusion at what he was doing. The two coins were standing between his left pointer finger and thumb, and he was aiming at the bard. "What are you doing?" "Just watch." With his other finger he flicked the coins and watched them sail into the bowl before th girl with a loud plink. He stood up and asked as he passed Leyna's chair, "Any requests, Miss Leyna?" She looked at him for a minute and grinned. "Nice shot. Ask for a story of some kind." He smiled slightly before pulling off his coat and leaving it at his seat, then starting towards the platform. He slid past people and gave Cosmos a short glance. At the platform, he leaned towards the entertainer. "I don't suppose you do stories, too?"

Raya learned towards him, with that never-failing smile. "Why, certaintly," She nodded to him as she placed her mandolin down. He seemed such a friendly man. She was happy to have been asked, she had been hoping to finish that story she had begun in the forest. Making herself comforable, she began. "The moon glistened softly, full and murky, tossed like a silver coin into a cloudy sea, and the man road with a trail of smoke behind, his cloak a-flutterin' as he raced..." The tavern was silent now, besides the voice of the girl and the ocasional gasp or cheer. She waved Her hand about describing a dark and mythical castle, made of skulls and bones, blackened and eerie with decaying flesh. The brave hero, the flash of his sword, as he fought a bloody battle with Raya acting it out on stage, stool for a shield and her mandolin as a sword, swinging it throgh the air like mad. The beatiful woman, the expression on her face as her hero was struck down. The way the tears stained her face as she cried. The mage as he swung his staff and casted a spell raising the hero from the ground. The holy light surrounding him and giving him the strength to finish off his enemy with a final bloody swing, and the sweet return home. The audience was silent, except for a sob from a woman who was touched by the story, it made Raya smile. A fantasy story, if only life were like that and everyone had a happy ending. She nodded and bowed as a few coins were tossed into the bowl. "Well, it's getting rather late and I'm quite hungrey, so I think I'll be done for this night. Thank you though!" She bowed her head and many people began filing out. Had they stayed simply to listen to her? She walked over to the man sitting with the pretty young woman. She nodded her head with a smile, "Thank you for suggesting I tell a story. I have enough to stay the night now."

The young entertainer approached Rokuro. "Oh, no, thank you. That story was amazing, you're very talented. Besides, thank Leyna. She wanted to hear one," he said softly. Leyna looked from Rokuro to the girl. "Miss, my father is the owner of this place. I'm sure he's honored to have had you perform here tonight." She turned again to Rokuro. "I'm going to bed, then. I hope you'll stay the night, Rokuro. Goodnight!" She kissed him on the cheek and walked away. "'Night..." he mumbled, his eyes wide and his face crimson. He watched her go up the stairs, and at the owner's grin, he quickly stared at the floor. He then remembered the entertainer. "Uhh, would you... like a seat?" he mumbled. It seemed Cosmos and whatever had been under his table had completely slipped his mind at this point, but in his shoced state, he wasn't thinking of much at all anyway. "B-by the way, my name's Rokuro..."

She smiled as she took a seat and shook his hand. "Thank you Rokuro. I'm Raya Roksana, many people know me as Blackgrace. You can simply call me Raya." She hadn't been around people for a while and having a conversation sounded wonderfully nice to her. She ordered some stew and bread. She stoped smiling for a moment, only the seconed time that night. She shut her eyes and shuddered. The precence of that man disturbed her. Raya ajusted her green bow and placed her chin on the edge of the table and looked at Rokuro, who's face was red. She smiled again. "That pretty girl, are you courting her?"
